A Christmas Piano and saving some chairs…

I am a volunteer at a local mission who’s main goal is to feed and clothe the needy. We except all sorts of donations and sell them to buy much needed food items for the food bank that is located on the premises.

Donations come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and in this particular case some can be very big and very heavy.

It took 5 men and 2 hours to get this 800 lb piano 23 kms down the road and into my dining room. Then after drying out for 2 days, I cleaned and oiled it from top to bottom. Completely out of tune and lacking some keys, I still love her for her architectural beauty and grace. Having her restored to play again may never happen, and I’m ok with that because I think she is gorgeous just the way she is.  Don’t you?DSC01297 DSC01300

Here are some French inspired chairs that also were from our thrift shop.

They originally looked nothing like they do now and with their new face lifts are beautifully french again. Hopefully they will add some charm and elegance to a Christmas table near you!

Thanks for reading !
