This Week’s Projects; Old windows, shutters and what they nearly threw away.

Maybe it’s the time of year, but there just seems to be something about old shutters and windows that I love.

With their faded colors to their chipped paint they just yell home.

So from chalk boards to towel racks, I had a blast this week thinking of new ways to reinvent them.

The coat rack originally was a step stool that the previous owner had glued a 1907 supplement from the Sunday Boston Globe to. The print is titled “The Introduction”. I think it will be perfect in a little boys room.

Lastly…

this amazing piece of folk art was destined for a burn pile before I rescued it. The paint was completely worn away and even though someone had used it as a plant stand I was able to bring it back.  Now close your eyes and imagine a time when life was much simpler and slower. A time when a rousing game of checkers at the corner store was one of the best ways to spend an afternoon…

hope you all have a great week!
